Why Green Pin bow Shackles
Green pin bow shackles are manufactured from quench and tempered grade 6 high tensile steel. Then subsequently hot dip galvanized for a durable finish.
Having a safety ratio of 6:1 (breaking load strength = 6xWLL) you are assured of a robust and safe connection when used correctly.
Probably the biggest benefit to our bow shackles is their ability to be side loaded or loaded at an angle. Something you can’t do with a dee shackle.
You should always ensure the sling fits correctly in the shackle bowl (not the pin). To do this you will need to know the width of your sling, then you can refer to the specifications. Here you will find all the dimensions for each size of shackle so that you can match you shackle with your sling perfectly.
These shackles can be safely used within some pretty extreme temperature ranges. From minus 20 up to plus 200 degrees Celsius.
Shackle Pin Options
Our green pin bow shackles come with a choice of pin types. Choose a standard screw pin if you need quick connections that will be frequently attached and removed. Choose the safety pin option for a safer and more of a semi-permanent connection that are not quite so quick and easy to remove. This is due to the addition of a nut followed by a cotter/split pin.
The safety pin option is available to higher working load limits than a screw pin.
Other Shackle Options
If you only need to lift or pull in a straight, in-line plain then a D shackle may be better suited. We can supply dee shackles suitable for lifting applications with up to 55 tonne WLL. These also have a choice of screw pin or safety bolt varieties.
If you need any other lifting shackle then please get in touch with our sales team, we can usually source the item you are after and always at great prices.
